I don't have time to maintain this module and no other maintainer has stepped forward, so I'm marking it abandoned.

pianomansam commentedI'm not sure I ever saw the call for another maintainer. The project page mentioned the unreleased D7 version didn't have a maintainer. But the project page doesn't make it clear you are ready to abandone the project, nor have I seen an issue for finding another maintainer in the queue.
Setting formfilter as abandoned makes it show up as a security issue on the module update page, which is scary to my admins. There's a difference between abandoned and unmaintained.
If you no longer wish to maintain FormFilter, I am willing to take over as interim maintainer until another maintainer is found. Please send me a PM or reply to this thread regarding this transition. Thanks!

nedjo@pianomansam: thanks for the offer.
The project had been marked "Seeking new maintainer" for a year and a half. No one has stepped forward.
As it should be. If I'm not maintaining it, and no one else is, it's abandoned.
Can you commit to reviewing and applying patches as required, addressing bugs, and posting new releases?

pianomansam commentedI guess I'm used to seeing modules post this fact at the top of the project page in big bold letters. I missed the section further down for Development Status.
This would be my first project to maintain, so this would be new to me. I have been developing for Drupal for a little more than three years now, even have a developer account, but have yet to have a module with enough global appeal to submit as a project. Before the release of Drupal 7, when all the sites I created were in Drupal 6, FormFilter would be one of my standard deployments. And it remains so on the various D6 sites I still maintain. I also work for a Drupal centered company that has several team members also using FormFilter, so they will also be a valuable resource.
Having said all that, I would be willing to take over as maintainer temporarily, with the goal of finding another co-maintainer or permanent maintainer. I would be committed to working through the bug list as I have the ability, but would really hope the community assists with that task. I would focus on bugs for now, not new features. Eventually, given I have the time, I may do a refactoring for a 2.0 version, which may include filtering based on role, and breaking the module into sub-modules supporting different types of forms.
Also seeing that D7 has a different solution geared toward the same idea (Rules Forms Support), I may continue to defer to that project for D7 support.
If this seems agreeable to you, what's the next step?

nedjoGreat. I've assigned the project over to you. You can now if you choose administer the releases and mark them as supported/recommended. Please let me know if you need more tips for getting going.
Thanks! Nedjo

pianomansam commentedThanks, nedjo. I'll take good care of her!
I'll also open a separate ticket to address the need for a new maintainer and move discussion there.
