Once you installed the theme, Kindly install this dependency module (Flexy mod) , this will build the basic menu structure, content types, contents taxonomy etc. From there you can customise or enhance the site. Kindly go through the Documentation once, it will have the detailed instruction with screenshots.
Once you installed that module, footer will look like the attached screenshot.
