We need a FlashVideo CCK widget--one just like imagefield.module, except for FlashVideos. Should also provide video thumbnails in the file attachment list under node/#/edit. I think that would be much better than a configuration per node under admin/settings; and could probably replace it more effectively. I don't think it really makes sense to have to update separate paths to FFMpeg for each node, for example. This would solve that.

And, this may be a separate or even unrelated feature request but, I would also like to see some integration with EMField.module if it is possible. Maybe a third module to connect these plus imagefield would be best, providing something like Facebook has which allows you to either upload a file (FlashVideo/Imagefield) or paste a URL (EMField External Video/Image) and it auto-detects the type of file by the URL domain and/or file extension.

Then you'd have one CCK Widget to rule them all; and a very user-friendly way to upload images and videos. Audio might as well integrate the same way eventually.

I've been meaning to make it myself, but have been slammed lately. If anyone else is interested, feel free. Otherwise, I guess I'll do it! :)

+1. I was thinking the same thing myself earlier tonight. I'm willing to donate to the cause to help front burner this. Let me know what would move this forward.

I'd love this too. In the meantime, I'm kind of stumped as to how to add a field with flashvideo capability to my CCK node -- even if it's multiple steps for now. I've gone through Travis' tutorial, but I must be missing something. I'm using CCK (and nodeprofile) to create a "user profile" node. At first I added a Video field using the CCK mediafield module, but that's not working so well for me, so I wanted to try flashvideo.

I'm theming the edit and output forms (using overrides in template.php), so I have control over the node. I've installed flashvideo, and enabled it for my "user profile" node, but I can't figure out the exact steps to add a flashvideo-enabled field to the node (it's not a regular content node, so I don't have a Create Content link where I can see an Upload link). Can you help?

@afinke: look under the FlashVideo settings in admin/flashvideo/settings.

Yes, I've gone to the settings page, made sure the php.ini/.htaccess settings were correct, selected my new content type ("User Profile"), and checked "Enable the FlashVideo for this Node Type." But now what?

If I were to enable the Create Content link in the menu, and click it and choose the User Profile content type, I do see the Upload section modified by Flashvideo. But that's not what I want. As I say, I'm using this new content type for user profiles, creating custom fields using CCK (I don't even have the Create Content link enabled in the menu). So I'm trying to add a CCK field and enable flashvideo for it.

I know this post is about adding a CCK flashvideo widget. But I'm just wondering if it's possible even now to add flashvideo capability to a CCK field, even if it requires several steps.

Thanks.

Hey mike... do you want to tackle this?... Apparently Steve Dondley is willing to donate to the cause (which would go to you of course). I am just slammed right now and trust your code. Let me know if you are up for it.

Hey,

Whats the status of this project? Did anyone succeed in making a working CCK upload integration for flashvideo?

This would be very interesting...

Dear Corona Ronin,

We have FileField integration in the 6.x-1.5-beta2 version of the module.

Hey Mark,

Thanks, but do you happen to have something ported to 5x?

Thanks!

Hi attheshow,
where can I find information on how to configure it?

Thanks!

Dear dmadruga,

I recently did a screencast where I show you how to set up and configure FlashVideo to work with FileField. You can find this link in the "tutorials" section of the FlashVideo project page. http://drupal.org/project/flashvideo

Actually, this is pretty important feature. With own widget the setup of the module can be done without putting the text in templates or tags in content.

I'm not seeing any remaining feature requests listed here that haven't been taken care of. If you have other feature requests, please open a new issue. Closing this one.
