Field Prototype Clone UI
Field Prototype Field Settings

This project is not covered by Drupal’s security advisory policy.

The Field Prototype module allows users to easily clone a field, creating a second field with a different machine name that inherits all the settings of the first. This can be useful in creating a uniform look and feel for a site.

For example, by default checkboxes display the On value as its text, with an option to use the field's label instead. That means that if you want your field's checkboxes to show the labels you set you have to check the setting box every time. The same goes for other, more complex field types, such as creating a site with a lot of price-related decimal fields (a dollar sign prefix, a decimal deliniator, two decimal places, etc).

There are two ways to clone a field. Users can either clone a specific field instance from an existing entity bundle, or save an instance's settings as a Prototype field. Prototype fields can all be updated by saving one of their instances.
