Hello. This looks to be potentially very interesting.

When will you document the existing functionality? Could you include details of how to configure - say - ODBC (Microsoft-oriented Open DataBase Connectivity) connections? I'm aware of (and wary of!) the security hole associated with passing arbitrary SQL commands...

I started a README.txt file for this module, after I installed and configured it (patch attached).
I haven't tested the module for taxonomy or user import, only node import.
