need help - "Error decoding the JSON document"

I'm trying to import a JSON document into a node.
An example of the document might be

 "POIs": [
  {
   "Name": "name here",
   "PhoneNumber" : "123 45 67 89"
  },
  {
   "Name" : "another name",
   "PhoneNumber" : "987 65 43 21"
  }
 ]
}

These would of course map to corresponding fields in the node
For the parser settings, I have context as $.POIs..* (I've also tried $.POIs.. $.POIs.* and $.POIs.[*].) and so each field would be like Name or PhoneNumber.
However, I'm always getting the message: "There was an error decoding the JSON document." Any help?

UPDATE: It works with $.POIs..* - the original JSON file I was using wasn't working, but when I copy+pasted the contents into another file and uploaded that, it worked. I've no idea why.
