I hope I'm stating the obvious, but please confirm ;)
I'm using feedapi and feed element mapper.
When I create a CCK field that is "news-description", then I map the "description" portion of the feed to it, and then I view the node .. I see "news-description" field, and I see the exact same information below it, though not in a CCK field.
This is part of feed API's theming, correct? IE if I want to get rid of the standard (non-cck) information on the node, I need to go to the theming layer, because there is no way to keep the node from displaying the description information from the feed?
Or and I just being thick and missing an option?
Thanks!

alex_b commentedYeah, what you're seeing is the text in the body field of the node. Feed Element Mapper is currently not set up to change any existing mapping (i. e. feed item title -> node title, feed item description -> node body) but only add to these mappings.
I'll mark this issue duplicate, as there is already and open one on the Feed Element Mapper queue : #341377: Mapper for node title, body, etc
