Hello,

It would be great to allow users to filter facets in blocks via a text field perhaps.

Somewhat related to [#31666182], if we had Views controlling the output in facet blocks this would be a piece of cake.

Hi giorgio79.

Thanks for the feature request. I do really like the design pattern, and there is another issue in the queue that highlights this pattern as well. Closing as duplicate of that one, will post the link when I find it.

I don't necessarily agree. Views does provide a textfield as an "exposed filter", but then you actually have to implement the filter. Since the filters would most likely have to be some parameters, either a SQL where clause or Solr parameters, the query type plugins defined by the implementing search modules would have to actually add the filtering based on the value set in the exposed filter. Looking at the Solr params, there is no option for further filtering a single facet so this functionality would only be available to database backends. To me, it would much easier to add a textfield via a widget and filter via jQuery, and it would be a better options since it would be backend agnostic.

Thanks,
Chris
