We are in process of building a ebook website, and we are required to block the access of epub, only to book purchased user's.

We restricted the ebook file download. while reading the book, if we copy the url from the iframe and access through the browser, it was accessiable to any one i.e anonymous user too, no restriction now.

Requirement is book files only viewed by the book purchased user or user with special permission.

we cannot use the private file system, as suggested, because in the code file system was hardcoded as public:// when the display is set epub.jsreader in manage display.

With the display of "EPUB: epub.js", uncheck the option "Use unzipped files from epub file in the reader", it will xhr the epub file which can be set to private file.
Otherwise it will request extracted files, which can be only in public directory, from the epub file.
It not easy for users to collect files and re-packed them back to a epub file.
