It would be nice for the site's content-generator to have the ability to view the View and Edit tabs on rendered Entity References.

Example: Consider a Super Page that renders Entity Reference nodes as children. When logged in, the content-generator sees the View and Edit tabs under the Super Page title, clearly for editing the Super Page. Under child's h2, however, there are no tabs. This is confusing to the content-generator because it makes them think the Super Page's View and Edit tabs apply to the children, as well.

I've tried adding the tabs using the THEME_preprocess_node() function:

  function THEME_preprocess_node(&$vars) {
    $vars['tabs'] = menu_local_tabs();
  }

And printing it in node--children.tpl.php:

  <div class="tabs clearfix">
    <?php print drupal_render($tabs);

?>

This displays the tabs, but the links for each tab go to the Super Page, rather than the child node. I'm not fully versed in Drupal-specific PHP, so if there's a way to manually add this feature, I would welcome any suggestions. Otherwise, I think this should be built into the project.
