This module is intended to be a super simple module that enhances the entity reference autocomplete widget. It allows adding filters to it, showing additional information in it and comes with a slight design update so viewing content to select is easier.
The vision is that users can visit the admin page, click some checkboxes, and then be able to filter entity reference fields and display additional data in them without any advanced setup.
Due to the simplicity of using it, if people want anything else filtered by, or displaying in the widget, please create an issue and we can build that in.
THIS MODULE HAS ONLY BEEN TESTED FOR NODES.
Features
Allows simple filtering and display of additional content in entity reference fields. This becomes useful if you have a site with lots of content that might need referencing to other content.
Post-Installation
Install the module, visit `/admin/config/content/entity-reference-autocomplete-enhanced` and select what you want to turn on.
Then when adding an entity reference field to content, go to that content/entities/bundles "manage form display" settings page, and select the widget type "Enhanced autocomplete".
