Features

The Entity Display Manager module provides extended control over how entity fields are rendered and displayed in Drupal. It enables site builders to modify HTML wrappers, field classes, and view mode behavior directly via the UI, removing the need for custom theming or preprocess hooks.

Key features include:
- Enable/disable Field and Label HTML wrappers
- Remove default field classes
- Template override support
- Field rewrites (custom text, clickable links, character limit trimming, HTML tag stripping)
- Bundle-specific view mode configurations

Post-Installation

After enabling the module, navigate to the "Manage Display" section for your content type or entity. You'll see new settings and checkboxes available per field, enabling deeper customization.

Additional Requirements

No additional modules or libraries are required. Fully compatible with Drupal 10.

Optional:
- Devel
- Field UI

Similar projects

- Display Suite: Focuses on layout and theming.
- Field Group: Groups fields visually but lacks deep rewrite tools.

Entity Display Manager focuses on display **behavior**, not just structure or grouping.
