Downloaded the latest 1.x-dev entity_boxes. Trying to enable the module results in the error:

mpotter commentedOK, so that didn't work properly. It avoided the errors when enabling the module, but then broke other aspects of the module.
Here is a better patch that avoids the original issue by clearing the cache in the ctools plugin. Failed to find any if statement to wrap it with that didn't cause infinite loops. But since the entity_boxes_boxes_plugins is only called once after a cache clear anyway, we essentially are just forcing some other caches to be cleared/rebuilt earlier in the chain.

mpotter commented#3 still caused an error upon initial installation. Here is one that seems to finally work. Tested on raw install as well as enable/disable on existing site.
