Problem/Motivation

CI and Upgrade Status both report that drupal_set_message() is not found in modern versions of Drupal, since it was removed in Drupal 9.

Steps to reproduce

Look at the phpstan results for this module, or scan it with Upgrade Status.

Proposed resolution

use MessengerInterface::addMessage() instead.
