I have installed modules into my live Drupal site and when I enable the modules, they don't work, and are not configurable. Is there a quick fix to this problem? Has anyone else encountered this problem?

I know it's an issue with my live hosted site because all modules work flawlessly using Acquia Dev Desktop.

Please help!
