I have a fresh install of drupal 5.12
latest version of all modules
tinymce
some imagecache profile ready (with eei_...)
I activate your module, ... and nothing happend... Bug or am I missing something ???

Don't you find that it's extremly surprising that your module 1 day old and there is already an official version available... with no testing or dev version ??
All module should go through a testing period before having an official release, because you can be sure that your module have some bugs... that we might discover when it'll be actually working.

Hi

We asked admins to delete the official version because this is still under development, but they refused. I've posted a message in the description... Sorry for the confusion

Could you explain what is not working exactly?

You should activate the easy image insert for each content type and then upload images in your nodes.

I tested on a fresh new content that I called 'blog'. So I activated the module, checked the permissions even though I'm user #1, created a imagecache profile called 'eei_test' (using scale and crop w:150 | h:150), and tryed to test it... not working...

Now I didn't know I had to activate it in the content type, as it is nowhere in the readme. So I thought that would be the reason... I went ahead and activated the 'Easy Image Insert Options' in the 'blog' content type, tried to upload an image in the imagefield when created a blog... still nothing. I have Tinymce activated, with image activated.

Now, I know this is a little bit short to say 'not working', but I don't see any error message, so there's nothing I can really say more than that :(
And the CVS thing, I remember having a hard making my own projects, so I totally understand that sometimes it does things that you really don't want it to do. I'm even in the process of writing a documentation on cvs for beginners. And as long as you mention it in the page, there is no problem.
I remember seing the views page with a warning and Earls used a class to make the message red... try using the class 'warning' or 'error' in the intro text of your module, maybe that would work even better.

I am trying to reproduce your issue.

Thanks

The bugs that affected you should be corrected now (download the last cvs version), please try it and confirm if you can use it now.

The instructions have changed sightly, please review them

Well, it's fixed, but not thanks to your patch...

First of all, you don't change a ticket to fixed until you know it's actually fixed.

Second of all, I found why it is not working for me, it's because I was using the latest version of imagefield... version 2 (silly me...). BUT your module, and this is NOT SPECIFIED ANYWHERE IN THE (quite minimal) DOCUMENTATION, ONLY WORKS WITH IMAGEFIELD VERSION 1...

I downgraded to version 1 and it seams to work now... but who is using imagefield 1 and drupal 5 .. and with tinymce ??? This really ad because your module would be a great one if only it wasn't only for obsolete systems. I know imagefield 2 is using some ajax and it might be more complicated to integrate, but unless you find a way to make your module work on the latest version of the system, I'm not sure that a lot of people will be using it

Could you make sure you mention your depedencies a litlle bit more accurately please ?

Hi

Did you download the latest cvs version? The release hadn't been populated yet when I answered the message, the latest version (12-Nov) should work with both releases of imagefield, so the dependencies are pretty accurate.

The module works with both versions of image cache (but the behavior is better with imagecache 2)

Sorry for the status, but it is only a burocratic step, you can change it if is not fixed, I don't see the big problem here.

I've tested the module with all the latest versions for drupal 5.x and it works with a clean installation, if not, please report the problems you have.

If you think that the documentation is minimal, you are invited to improve it, also the code.

Thanks

@pcambra - i'm going to explore this for D6, and if it works as advertised i'm more than happy to write up some crisp documentation

Thanks zilla, there is a dev version for the module already (you can grab it from cvs or wait until the release is populated)

The module has been discontinued (see #665298: Deprecate Easy Image Insert module).
