Per the comment in #683852: !files for the default sitealias, I'm going to take out all of the backwards-compatibility code that supported spaces in commands and simplify command dispatching. If you need to run scripts that still have spaces in commands, you'll have to use drush 6.x-3.0-alpha1, as this will be going away soon.

So I think that we should wait for *after* the release of the 3.0 branch to remove deprecated features. Basically, I think the timescale is very short between the deprecation and the removal, and I am not sure what this will gain...

I know we probably disagree on this, but I still wanted to voice my opinion on this. :) Maybe we have a discordance on the definition of deprecation. ;)

This is fixed in http://drupal.org/node/861822#comment-3329790. If committed there, this issue should be marked 'fixed', not 'duplicate', for release documentation purposes.
