Hi,
I have just taken over maintenance of my website after having it developed. I am trying to upgrade and add some new modules but when I extract the tar.gz module and upload it via FTP I don't see it in the module list. This is what I am doing

1) Downloading the .tar.gz file to my windows PC
2) Unzipping it using WinRAR
3) Copying the folder to my /sites/all/modules/ folder using Filezilla

But when I go to my module list (site building->modules) I do not see the module listed.
I have read all the installation guides and they all say to do the steps as I have done them above.
Can anyone tell me if I am doing something wrong?

Considering the lack of activity on this issue and that Drupal v5 is no longer supported by fixes or patches, I am going to close this ticket. If this issue still exists and you want to continue to ask for technical support from the community, please reopen and update this ticket.
