Heya,

I was thinking it would be good for users to view the node number of the page they are editing in the user interface without having to look in the address bar.

When CKEditor is installed, admininstrators can view the node number directly in the user interface, but normal users can not.

From useability point of view, I think this would be a good thing. In particular when using the Link Node module.

Or is this feature already there and am I completely looking over it?

Hi, this really isn't a documentation issue - I'd move it, but I'm not even sure where it should go - perhaps the views queue or CKEditor?

True, I wasn't sure where to put this issue as well. Moved it.

Why Views? Views has nothing to do with editing a node? If you're talking about raw editing a node I guess that's core.

Sorry bout that. Still don't know Drupal very well. Thanks for helping :)

doh sorry merlin, i misread the first part as saying "editing in the views interface" and basically totally misunderstood the post... whoops

Hi,

For a particular view, you can just check Node: Nid or Node: Link and it would be visible to the users in the view incase that is the requirement.

Shamik

This is a feature request -- bumping version to 8.

In the meantime, this could be done in contrib. (Myself, I'd really like to know the *type* of a node when I'm viewing or editing it.)

There are a number of 'utility' modules that this could live in -- of course the problem with these is that they end up being a bit of a mix of odds and ends :/

Thanks for your input guys.

@joachim:
You can use the Nodetype module to view (and change) the node type you are editing.

This could now be added via a views block if needed.
