I am trying to get a special character into the node title for the 'create new user' page. In the user.module i replaced 'User account' with what i wanted which included ö. So on the 'Create new account' page instead of saying 'User Account' it will have a ö.

The problem is if i have ö, anything after and including that character won't show. Show if i try and put 'dörr', all that will show on the page is 'd'.

Any solutions?

It seems like you were editing directly in drupals core files: http://drupal.org/best-practices/do-not-hack-core

Drupal supports UTF-8, so it sounds like you were using an editor that changed the encoding.
