I can not update in FF but it is possible in IE.

Do I understand this correctly:
You are not able to update using FF for 8 months now?

Given the fact that more issues like yours might have cropped up in the meantime if this was a general issue, I heavily doubt this is a "real" Drupal issue.

Have you tried with an up to date FF WITHOUT any extensions which might interfere?
