Hello,

I have set up 2 forums (no containers above) and created 1 entry. Everything was fine until I upgraded from Drupal 6.16 to 6.17.
Now anonymous users see in the forum list the node title linked to the node (as usual) but authenticated users see the plain author name instead of the node title.
I use the modules "content access" and "ACL" all the time. No matter how I configure the settings (even if I uninstall both modules completely and also re-install the forum module incl. cleaning up the DB) the guests see the linked node title but authenticated users only the plain author name.

I attached both perspectives (guest and authenticated user) to clearify my problem.
Can anybody help me, please? I feel lost. :(

Please check the permission "access user profiles" at admin->user->permissions and configure it accordingly....

Thank you for your response. Both anonymous and authenticated users are allowed to access user profiles. So I hope the permissions are ok on this level.
I can't understand why authenticated users see a plain username instead of a plain node title if they are not allowed to see the node. That's pretty weird.

Sorry, I forgot to mention the most important part: Even User1 (who has all privileges as we know) can't see the linked node title but the plain username.

Have you modified the theming of the forum pages in any way at all, or used any additional modules there?

Yes, I use forum-list.tpl.php and forum-icon.tpl.php in my custom theme folder under sites/all/themes/{mythemename}. But even if I take this overridden templates out of my custom theme folder, clear all caches (Drupal and DB) I don't see any changes. So I think it can't be the problem... also because I didn't rewrite/delete any PHP logic. I just changed some HTML output. I also used the OG forum module but all access permissions worked fine. I uninstalled it for other reasons completely (also from DB) and since the upgrade from Drupal 6.16 to 6.17 I have this access problem... but I'm not sure if this is the actual problem.
If I change the ACL access settings on admin/content/types/forum/access it takes effect so that anonymous users and authenticated users can see the forum topics or not at all -> if authenticated user are allowed they only see the plain usernames.
It's so annoying. The whole website is completely ready and can't go online and can't just because of this problem. :(

Ok, I found the solution after un- and re-installing every module one-by-one.
The Problem was the realname module which had a bug with the content profile implementation.
