I have installed yui_editor-6.x-2.33 into my drupal's sites/all/modules folder and it works fine but there is no easy way for the user to browse and upload images. I read this article: http://davehall.com.au/blog/dave/2008/10/22/yui-editor-imce-drupal-6 which says that if i install IMCE and a little javascript plugin; then this problem will be fixed (the plugin has apparently been officially adopted by drupal). so i installed IMCE and enabled the module. I stuck the .js plugin into my YUI_editor-6.x-2.33 plugins folder and replaced the old .js file. i also placed it in a few other locations because i cant tell if it works.
When i installed YUI i was required to set user managment/permissions in the drupal permissions section to make it appear so i thought it would be the same for IMCE but IMCE doesnt appear there for some reason. It does appear in site configuration/IMCE. this might be the way it is supposed to be but why has IMCE not integrated itself with YUI and given YUI its much needed browse button? what could i possibly be doing wrong? my browse button does not appear in my yui interface. i need it to appear there. i have played around with some of the settings in configuration/IMCE and tried make it appear in my text fields but to be honest i dont really know what im doing in there. Has any one here ever gone this approach in getting a rich text editor to work? what is the best thing for me to do now?

deadpixel commentedI just sort of got it working. it was a matter of playing with settings in configuration/YUI_Editor as opposed to configuration/IMCE. i dont even know if IMCE has done anything. so now i can get images from my server onto my webpage but how does my computer illiterate site owner put images onto the server without using ftp progs? what is the normal easy method for this...

mdupontClosing this old issue. FYI you can configure IMCE so you'll be able to upload files from its interface, or you can use 3rd party plugins for IMCE as well. Or just plain upload widget or FileField in Drupal.
