Hi, I'd like to have my site name in plain text (a large-sized Georga font) instead of in the image that Garland turns my site name into. How can I do that?

Garland supports displaying your site title as an link. Simply make sure that you site name is set in the "site information" section, then go to the theme settings page and make sure that "display logo" is turned off and "display site title" is turned on.

If you would like to display the site title as text only, remove the anchor tags surrounding the site title in Garland's page.tpl.php file.
To change the site name's font, target #wrapper #container #header h1 with your CSS. Garland's stock site title styling is kept in a file named style.css.

Note that it is probably best to make a subtheme of Garland in order to prevent your changes from being overridden when updating Drupal core.
