On smalltalk.gnu.org I set up a list profile field where one of the possibilities contains the "+" character. Clicking from the link that appears for example in my user page leads to an empty page, because the + is erroneously translated to a space ("Users whose blog is under CC-BY 3.0 <space> GFDL dual licensing").

bonzinip commentedIndeed, including %252B instead of %2B in the URL works.
pwolanin commentedSounds very much like the issue here: #481838: Plus signs ("+") disappear in URL when using clean URLs with the Apache webserver
We *could* double-encode a + in drupal_urlencode(), or possibly we mark this as a dup of #484554: Stop relying on Apache for determining the current path
Switching to 7.x, since bugs are always fixed in HEAD first.
bonzinip commentedIt is indeed a duplicate of 484554.
