list only nodes for that day in archive_page()

The archive_page() lists nodes created after the selected date (inclusive), and not nodes created on the selected date which is common in blogging tools... Would a patch "fixing" this behaviour will be accepted, or should I submit a patch which adds a new setting for selecting from the two behaviours, or should I forget that Drupal will be aligned with this commonly expected behaviour? :)
