Hello!
I have been recommended to do a Drupal upgrade, however, I am running into the following:
1. The version that I am currently running for Drupal is (Drupal-5.2.tar). The versions available for update are Drupal 5.16 and Drupal 6.10. How is that possible?
2. Which version should I download?
3. I am running the "Fancy" theme. Is this update going to affect the current functionality of the site? I couldn't locate an answer online.
Please advise.
Thanks!
Zina

dww0) The "drupal.org customizations" module is specific to the drupal.org website. You're asking for generic support for running Drupal on your own site, so I'm moving this to a more appropriate issue queue.
1) You're running 5.2. There have been 14 releases since then, so we're now at 5.16. Drupal core version 6.x was released about a year after 5.x so there have been fewer releases for "D6" than for D5 at this point, so it's only up to 6.10. Hope that explains it. Perhaps you're confused by "5.16" and think that's supposed to mean "5.1.6"? No, core just uses 2 digit version numbers. 16 is really 16. See http://drupal.org/handbook/version-info for more.
2) The latest one for the major version you're currently using. In this case, 5.16. Upgrading from 5.x to 6.x is a bigger deal. See http://drupal.org/upgrade for more.
3) No idea. You'd have to test it on a test site first (which you should do anyway).
Good luck,
-Derek

zinasahib commentedHi Derek,
Thanks a lot for your prompt response (and sorry for posting the issue in the wrong place - didn't know where it fits best).
I did the upgrade and everything seems to be fine. There was an error when I ran the update.php :
***************************************************************
{ "status": true, "percentage": 100, "message": "Updating complete" }
***************************************************************
when clicking further, I get:
***************************************************************
warning: reset() [function.reset]: Passed variable is not an array or object in C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs\drupal\update.php on line 523.
The update process was aborted prematurely while running update # in .module. All other errors have been logged. You may need to check the watchdog database table manually.

Administration pages

Apart from that, I enabled the modules and applied the theme (Fancy) as per the update instructions, everything seems to work fine.
Thanks once again,
Zina

askttt commentedI'm having the exact issue. The solutions I've found while searching drupal.org involve tweaking the .htaccess file and switching from Firefox to IE. I've tried them all to no avail.
