I am trying to create a wiki type book that allows users to create child pages. The problem I have is that when they are provided the "Book Outline" section they are given the option to create another book or none.
Is it possible to limit the hierarchy of all child pages to be contained within the book being worked on?
Example:
Book - > Parent item
not
Book or None or Create a new book
Thanks

ainigma32 commentedAFAIK that isn't possible out of the box, There are some contributed modules that offer that functionality: http://drupal.org/search/node/type%3Aproject_project+book+permission
Please post back how that works out for you.

sunnyinspain commentedHi
I seem to be going around in circles with the modules as none match what I am after...
Basically I am after a very simple means for someone to add another Book page to an exisiting book. Ideally such things as Book Outline and Input format are hidden from the user and the child page is exactly that ie the child of the book page that the "Add child" button was clicked in.
Any idea?
Thanks

ainigma32 commentedYou could use a hook_form_alter to hide some of the form items that are presented to the user when they add a book page.
Drawback is that a savvy user could edit the form values before sending it and create a new book that way.
Will that do?

Good luck and please post back what you come up with.

sunnyinspain commentedThanks.. If I understand correctly the whole "hook" thing needs to be implemented through creating a module.
Assuming that this is true I am going to spend the next week learning about module development and then atttack this issue again.
