An earlier commit comment says: 

    "4) Temporary removed container functionality: this simplified the work
        and eliminated some usability issues."

I have posted a patch (to -devel) to restore this functionality prior to the 4.3 release.

Jeremy's container patch has been committed to the HEAD branch and the container functionality has been restored. Unfortunately a small glitch crept in: the breadcrumb navigation is not accurate in presence of containers. Updated the report accordingly.
