Hello, everyone. Welcome to the ✨ CLI in Core Initiative ✨ Meeting! 📅 This meeting:
➤ Usually happens weekly either at Wednesday 14:00 UTC.
➤ Will use Slack threads to continue discussions.
➤ Please comment on the roll call thread throughout the day.

0️⃣ Roll Call! Who is here today? Introduce yourself including your name and drupal.org username.

mradcliffe Matthew here (mradcliffe). I am a little tired out and sore from vaccinations yesterday.
longwave  Dave (longwave)
bircher Fabian (bircher) 👋
larowlan heyo larowlan

1️⃣ Meta updates

1️⃣ 0️⃣ tekNorah updated the spreadsheet: tekNorah in #cli-in-core

tekNorah In order to parse the Command list a bit more easily, I converted the list to a Table and created views. I'm finding the Core view to be the most helpful as it is just the list of Core Migration Tier items (grouped by P Level).

Happy to alter if needed.

ℹ️ to get back to the full list, choose :x: from the View menu

1️⃣ 1️⃣ Meeting notes

mradcliffe I am behind 1 (now 2) meetings, but I'll try to catch up.

2️⃣ Rotterdam 2026, how did it go, are there any follow-up tasks to update initiative pages, documentation, meta and planning issues?

mradcliffe .
longwave Moshe's session was great, he consistently pronounced dr as "doctor" and i think it is starting to stick with some people 🙂
mradcliffe Nice
longwave everyone i spoke to about dr was positive about it, they just need their pet commands to be ported so they can drop drush
longwave i think drush deploy and the concept of deploy hooks was the one i heard most frequently
bircher yea drush deploy will be interesting because the deploy hooks are only in drush though saved in the drupal database

3️⃣ Issue discussions

3️⃣ 1️⃣ RTBC issues

mradcliffe - RTBC: drupal.org/project/drupal/issues/3594336- RTBC: drupal.org/project/drupal/issues/3594337- Needs change record updates + proposed resolution then back to RTBC: drupal.org/project/drupal/issues/3594335Ping larowlan in 6 hours
mradcliffe Probably a good idea to not wait any longer for follow-up no the change record and do it.
bircher :tada:
larowlan i have these tabs open
larowlan just been trying to find some time
larowlan but if I don't during the week should have time at the weekend
larowlan config export and extension list are in 🎉

3️⃣ 2️⃣ Needs review: config:import command drupal.org/project/drupal/issues/3594338

mradcliffe Opportunities for code review and manual testing.
mradcliffe I really think that we should output each sync step to provide feedback to the CLI user.
mradcliffe It does not seem like too much effort to put in to the command.
mradcliffe Or maybe that would be a good use of a verbosity option.
mradcliffe Oh, but we have a follow-up now. I'll go ahead and resolve my comment.
bircher thanks! yea we can do more as verbose.. but the bigger the things the more bike sheds to paint
larowlan I reckon we can target getting this one in next - that or the uninstall one - both are close

3️⃣ 3️⃣ Needs review: maint commands drupal.org/project/drupal/issues/3627514

mradcliffe Opportunities for code review and manual testing

3️⃣ 4️⃣ Needs review: cache:warm commands drupal.org/project/drupal/issues/3627548

mradcliffe Opportunities for code review and manual testing

3️⃣ 5️⃣ Needs triage: drupal.org/project/drupal/issues/3605796

mradcliffe pm:info command idea.
mradcliffe Should this be in core?

3️⃣ 6️⃣ Needs work: update.inc deprecations to help with database update related commands  drupal.org/project/drupal/issues/3012523

mradcliffe I haven't had time to get back to the real simple fix that is needed for trigger_error  if anyone else has time to get that done.
larowlan feels close too now

4️⃣ Please add any additional topics you want to discuss after this thread.

5️⃣ Any celebrations of success for CLI usage?

6️⃣ I wanted to raise awareness for the idea we discussed during a BoF at DrupalCon Rotterdam as a way for drush to not have to become a module.

bircher https://www.drupal.org/project/drupal/issues/3626804
bircher it is just a proposal or possible way of doing things, but the MR on the issue has an example of a php package providing a dr command without being a module.
mradcliffe We really need a kernel/composer/installer sprint to track all the related issues and get them done over a week/weekend.
bircher would be fun
nicxvan Just a heads up, I do agree with chx on his notes
nicxvan A composer plugin is preferable to runtime json parsing
bircher me too
bircher I have a refactored MR soon ready to push
bircher but I need to test it with more sleep
bircher and last night when I worked on it, it got late
