Problem/Motivation

In #3565560-19: Describe the requirements array as a PHPDoc type @alexpott said that the workspace_incompatibility requirements check hasn't been relevant since Drupal 8. I verified that the contrib workspace module hasn't been updated since D8. This irrelevant check may be removed.

Proposed resolution

As of 2026/09/30 this is the only requirement in core/modules/workspaces/src/Install/Requirements/WorkspacesRequirements.php. Delete the class.

Remaining tasks

I don't know much about documentation policy, but it seems like the related page, https://www.drupal.org/node/2987783, should be unpublished or deleted after the change.

Committed and pushed 073a7d38198 to main and 921268a53a1 to 12.0.x and 954c29f16d1 to 11.x. Thanks!

Backported to 11.x because this check is also useless there.
