mradcliffe I also think that keep old aliases, hide in UI, warn the user is the ideal, but I'm not sure how to hide aliases in the UI.

moshe I dont know how either. I also dont think its worth maintaining custom code for that.

2️⃣ 1️⃣ Command issues—discussion for any of the command issues

mradcliffe I started looking at the database update and database update list commands a couple of weeks ago, and really did not want to deal with update.inc so I picked up drupal.org/project/drupal/issues/3391683 and drupal.org/project/drupal/issues/3012523 to try to move those through as part of kill all includes, and that should make it easier to write these commands.
mradcliffe I need to set a reminder to ping larowlan when he's awake about the RTBC command issues,.
mradcliffe I rebased drupal.org/project/drupal/issues/3594336 and drupal.org/project/drupal/issues/3594334 this morning and the functional javascript and nightwatch tests passed so it looks green.

I have been working on console commands to create content type, create fields etc right from terminal. I’ll refactor a few things and put up an issue for this. Is it worth shipping those out of the box? 

mradcliffe I'm sorry I didn't read this until now. I think generator commands are not for phase 2 for core, but having them in contrib as more examples of console commands would be nice.
