Problem/Motivation
yched did not respond to the 2025 Annual Core Maintainer Check-In and has been unresponsive throughout the 4-week confirmation period.
As per the Core subsystem maintainer policy, maintainers who do not confirm their continued involvement will be removed from MAINTAINERS.txt.
Proposed resolution:
Remove yched’s name and contact details from the MAINTAINERS.txt entry for the Field UI subsystem.
Remaining tasks:
- Commit the update to MAINTAINERS.txt
- Notify the Core Committers Slack channel when merged
No UI/API/Data model changes.

xjmMany people think my user profile photo is a 3D animation screen grab. Look more closely -- it is not. It is a photo of an actual figurine about 20 cm high. Back in 2012 and 2013 when we were working on Drupal 8, I spent 120 hours reviewing a 400K patch converting blocks to plugins. When I completed this review, yched promised me they would "commission a statue" of me commemorating my efforts.
By DrupalCon Portland in May, I had completely forgotten about this conversation. yched had not. He told me that they had looked into it and unfortunately the costs for a full-sized statue had been prohibitive, so they had to scale it down, and he presented me with the figurine. In my user profile photo, my "statue" is posed in front of a paper poster with a sticky kanban of the Entity Field API beta blockers as of Drupal Dev Days Szeged.
Yves, thank you always for your grace, your warmth, and your good humor. Working with you on Drupal 8 -- and hanging out with you after we'd closed our laptops -- was an absolute delight. Miss you!

alexpottYves thanks for everything. I have so many memories - you are an amazing whistler, deep thinker of both code and life and are missed.
I’m writing this in a car outside a boulangerie in a little town outside Paris… you me and Swentel need to have another meet up :)

yched commentedJess, Alex, thanks so much for the kind words, they do mean a lot and bring back some of my best memories, around Munich, Portland, Prague, Ghent or New York (that hotel room party...). Being part of the community was just awesome and full of smart and fun and lovely people.
I'll admit I browsed the core repo just a couple months ago, just to see if I still recognized the Field API code (I did...)
And I'm super happy and proud that the figurine is still your avatar to this day Jess <3
Love. Miss you folks.

quietone commented@yched, thank you for all your support of Drupal and for remembering the 'statue' for xjm!
Committed to 11.x, 11.2.x, 10.6.x, and 10.5.x. I'll also do the admin tasks, such as updating the core node, the Google group, the maintainer channel.
