And Drupal runs on the iPhone :) Ok, slowly (my PHP build has no op-cache for now)... but it works.

Has anyone heard anything about using Drupal as the back end service for an iPhone app ? We are looking to create a module that will allow iPhone apps to interface easily with Drupal, allowing an iPhone app developer to quickly leverage off of Drupal content management..... trying to find any other work in this area . ...

What's the intentions of this issue? If it already works in iPhone, next is what? :P

Have you made any progress regarding the Drupal back end service for iPhone apps?
Or can anyone suggest good resources to this end? We need a way to allow users to submit content to a custom CCK node with file attached.

How would this drupal based app be run by users. (1) wouldnt it be easier to have users logon to your site. (2) seeing as php runs on the iphone wouldnt it be easier to create custom php apps that can run on the phone?
