Problem/Motivation

There are a number of cleanup patches waiting that touch lots of files and are considered disruptive enough to wait for a convenient place in the development cycle. the window between beta1 and rc1 is the best time for these changes as we cannot add new features during this time.

Ideally we pick a day and have a team of three including one committer to get these in in one go. That minimises the disruption. I also think that rather than picking a day we can do these when they are ready in the beta period because there shouldn't be as much change going on and these can have priority.

Sounds like a good idea, only when you review all those issues on a single day that is a lot of reviewing for a single day.
