After upgrading files to 7.x-dev version released on 10-08-2008 from previous 7.x release database update fails. I'm using Apache 2.2.9, PHP 5.2.6, PostgreSQL 7.4.19 and PDO driver 1.0.2. Here's the error I get:
An error occurred. http://x.com/update.php?id=5&op=do <br /> <b>Fatal error</b>: Uncaught exception 'PDOException' with message 'UPDATE {node_type} SET module = 'node_content' WHERE module = 'node' - Array ( ) SQLSTATE[42703]: Undefined column: 7 ERROR: column "module" does not exist' in /public_html/7/includes/database/pgsql/database.inc:72 Stack trace: #0 /public_html/7/includes/database/database.inc(1402): DatabaseConnection_pgsql->query('UPDATE {node_ty...') #1 /public_html/7/modules/node/node.install(394): update_sql() #2 /public_html/7/update.php(169): node_update_7000('UPDATE {node_ty...') #3 /public_html/7/includes/batch.inc(202): update_do_one(Array) #4 /public_html/7/includes/batch.inc(117): _batch_process() #5 /public_html/7/includes/batch.inc(45): _batch_do() #6 /public_html/7/update.php(700): _batch_page() #7 {main} thrown in <b>/public_html/7/includes/database/pgsql/database.inc</b> on line <b>72</b><br />

Comment #2
nikemen commentedNot duplicate at all! The other issue is about a problem upgrading database from Drupal 6 to Drupal 7. This one is caused upgrading to the last Drupal 7 release from the former. The conflict is in the node module.

dave reidHere's the related issue: #206138: fix 'node' node-type module attribute. The node_update_7000 worked for me on my upgrade. :/

gpk commentedI don't think updates from one snapshot of HEAD to another are supported. The problem may be introduced in the earlier version of HEAD - trying to fix problems potentially introduced in an earlier unstable version by update routines in another unstable version (routines that may never be needed again) sounds like a hiding to nothing to me. Therefore "by design".
