Hi,

While adding comment field on article or recipe content type, the comment system doesn't render for their respective node pages.

How to reproduce:

  • - Enable Comment Module.
  • - Create a comment type targeting entity type content.
  • - Add a comment field on article content type or recipe content type.
  • - Create a new content of Article content type or recipe content type.
  • - View the newly created node page of article content type or recipe content type.

Thanks

Rendering part of full content for Article or recipe nodes use layout builder. So to render comments list on node render you have to add it as simple block on Layout builder.
Go to Manage Display for Recipe content type -> Full content tab -> Edit Layout (for example: en/admin/structure/types/manage/recipe/display/full/layout) -> add block Comments.

Hello!

As @vadim.hirbu mentioned, in Umami these content types use Layout Builder. So the comments block needs to be placed on the page after enabling the module.

Closing this as works by design because of this. Let us know if you have any other issues or can't get the comments to display
