There's an example of how to use a default value with a lookup at https://api.drupal.org/api/drupal/core%21modules%21migrate%21src%21Plugi...

This should be copied or referenced in the MigrationLookup plugin docs.

Component: documentation » migration system

This was discussed at a documentation triage meeting, with Amber Himes Matz and myself.

The documentation to DefaultValue was added in #2845477: Add documentation to DefaultValue process plugin when we were improving the documentation to all process plugins. The idea of cross referencing to Migration Lookup did not come up at the time. I see using the default_value process plugin after a migration_lookup the same as using any other plugin after migration_lookup and don't see why the cross referencing or duplication is needed.

And if we add this cross referencing should the documentation for all process plugins be checked for where cross referencing could be added?

For the reasons above we both think this is a won't fix. If you disagree, add a comment explaining how doing this work will help.

I am moving this to the migration system, where the migrate maintainers work. I hope to remember to bring this up at a meeting.
