My list of forums at /forum opens fine in Firefox and Safari. In Opera, however, it fails to open--but only for an unregistered user. I upgraded to Opera 9.51. It still fails to render the page

It seems to be something related to permissions. If I change permissions to allow unregistered users to create forum topics, it works fine, but I do not want unregistered users to have write privileges.

php error log reveals the following: PHP Fatal error: Unsupported operand types in /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/drupal/includes/common.inc on line 1265

There is no analogous problem with other node types.

If it's fixed, it should be set fixed, not active.
