skaught(: not silly, of course you should be able to edit another item it a tray is open. from this point I think the problem is a user has no warning of possible changes needing to be saved..

tedbowI think this is much bigger problem than we should be solving in Outside In. This is true across every single form on a Drupal site that has another link on the page. You never get warned clicking a link will cause you to lose your changes.
I think the only thing we could really stop is if the user clicks to open the exact same form, i.e. same Quick edit link or Editable element.
