When we create exposed filters for entity reference field in views, it neither provides options for creating this filter as drop-down not as auto complete.

Currently only text box filter is allowed.

Example:

I created two content types A & B. A have title, practice, image and body fields. B have title and body fields.

practice field in A content type is entity reference to B.

Now when generating View from content type A, I tried to add exposed filter on practice field. I want this to be dropdown. But there is no screen provided to me for setting this filter as dropdown or auto-complete.

Nothing is broken, so wouldn't say this is a bug, but yeah having more options then just a text field based filter would be a nice addition.

Is this a regression from D7?

I would also like the choice of a drop down to select options rather than autocomplete. On the create content form as well as the view filter.

I am referencing a small taxonomy. My users and I are older - not natural users of the web and memories not what they were. A drop down would remind us of the choices available. Many of my users will look at the autocomplete and give up!

This is being worked on in #2429699: Add Views EntityReference filter to be available for all entity reference fields.
