I have looked around a lot re emails not getting out.

Have tested with a php script and that works so it's a Drupal thing.

Also seeing same problem for Joomla - it seems that fasthosts and their resellers (streamline) say:

"This issue is occuring because there is a missing fifth parameter in your mail script. This has always been a requirement of mail scripts on our shared hosting platform but recent updates to our Linux servers (from PHP4 to PHP5) has meant that this is now always required."

I am not allowed access to php.ini.
I have to make this site live today so changing hosts is not really an option for this site.

You can easily modify the function drupal_mail() to add the ini_set and fifth parameter required by fasthosts.

You can also implement your own smtp library (by implementing drupal_mail_wrapper() in order not to modify Drupal core files.

Please see fasthosts' knowledge base: http://www.fasthosts.co.uk/knowledge-base/?article_id=70

Many thanks. I would like to have a try at editing the function.

Can you tell me please which file the drupal_mail() function is in?

Many thanks Damien.

Before I close I am recording what I did below in case it helps anyone else:

In file: common.inc

Line: 1937

Changed:
function drupal_mail($mailkey, $to, $subject, $body, $from = NULL, $headers = array()) {

To:
function drupal_mail($mailkey, $to, $subject, $body, $from = "mysite.com", $headers = array()) {
