Drupal URL aliases not working

Hello sir,
How to change link name (URL aliases).
I have changed from URL aliases from admin, but it is not working.
I am using sitemap.xml. It shows many links like:

http://example.com/node/14
http://example.com/node/3

How can I change link "node/14" into "location" It should be look like:
http://example.com/location or http://example.com/node/location

Please help me.
