The images used for menus are in /misc
While menu-leaf.png is a white circle with a black border, the other menu-*.png images are solid black. This slight inconsistency becomes very apparent when used with a black background, leaving small white circles for leafs and invisible black triangles for non-leaf items.

attached are my suggested modifications to the three images in question.
