Can I assign a term from a different taxonomy/vocabulary as related term or synonymous? If not possible now, would you please consider adding this in?
I think this have been discussed, but seems still not there.
Thanks.

jb605 commentedJust a few more thinking on this related term and synonym.
For related term to be in another vocabulary, it is fine and won't break the current tree view mechanism.
But if we have term that has a synonym in another vocabulary, we probably want to specify one term as a synonym only, and not holding any child term or node data. And thus when we build a tree, this term won't have any child, and won't cause problem. If we assign different node to a term and it's synonym in another vocabulary, building the tree will be problem, either we don't care about node in the synonym (which makes no sense for synonym), or we merge them and it will be complicate for building the tree.
If we define a term as either a term (who can hold child term or child noe), or a synonym only, then we can avoid the above problem.

Eric Scouten commentedStill not implemented.
Dropping synonym from this feature request since synonyms don't really have to exist in any vocabulary.
