People are saying that "hook link" goes away in drupal 7, and that links are now loaded in hook_node_view.
Unfortunately, I tried hook_link and I tried hook_node_view, and neither one of them works. Could you please update the documentation to demonstrate which hook is to be used in 7?
Thanks a million!

Can you be a bit more specific? What are you trying to achieve? What (specifically) have you tried in order to reach your goal? What did you expect to happen when you tried each of your solutions.
One thing I can tell you is that the documentation you read is correct and the hook_link() has been removed as of D7 and you can add/edit/remove links from a node using hook_node_view().
