For my users who are assigned a role that is permitted to edit content, the view/edit links are not visible on the Garland Theme for pages that are using full html input. The links do appear for filtered html content. The view/edit links DO show up on the blue marine theme.

The site is setup with the following:
Drupal 5.1
Contrib modules: DB Maintenance 5.x-1.2, Event HEAD, DHTML Menus 5.x-0.7, Views 5.x-1.5, and Event with volunteer timeslots HEAD
Server is set up with MySQL 4.1.21 and PHP 5.1.6

I have seen a similar thing where the role is not able to access the filter. eg. if your users are not able to post full HTML, then they don't get edit access to full HTML nodes.
