I tested it with all formats & they all seem to work except for images - jpg .
For ex. i upload 5 dif. file formats all to the same form. 4 out of the 5 work correctly when clicked, but jpg does not. it results in an "Access denied. You may need to login below or register to access" error.

So it is obviously seeing me as not logged in.

note - i am using private messages w/ a filefield attached.

Problem also exists with png's

this is most likely a problem with the private messages module. This issue needs to be moved over to the PM issue queue.
