I am facing a unique and disturbing problem.
1: you can add any text in the URL and the page still shows, it must show a page not found error.
2: it is automatically adding sitename.com at the end of urls so it would be like

http://drupal.org/2334ew/drupal.org

Please help.

Project: Pathauto » Drupal core
Version: 6.x-1.2 » 6.x-dev
Component: Code » menu system
Priority: Critical » Normal

This is part of Drupal core.

Disable path and pathauto and globalredirect and you will see the problem remains. It is probably a duplicate of something, but I don't know where/what.

1. Is "by design". Drupal is designed so that any extra elements in the path get passed to the program as parameters. This allows you to create nice paths that are handled by a single function.

2. Looks like a problem with your URL rewriting configuration. What webserver are you using? Are you using the default .htaccess file?
