Hi,
I have couple of content types. We allow users to post in Forums. Even if users don't have permission to create other content types, they can see it under "create content" link or example.com/node/add page. This confuses them. How to show ONLY those content types which the user has permission to create?

prabeen.giri commentedIt can be easily managed from the permission section , you have to create role for the user with different privileges and then assign the permission accordingly (admin/user/permissions).
I hope this helps.

sijans commentedDoes user post content without login?
If yes then,
Remove permission to add content from anonymous user except to add content for content type of "Forums"
For example:
forums content type: provide permission to add content for anonymous user
other content type: remove permission to add content for anonymous user
You can manage it from, admin/user/permissions (User management->Permissions ->node module)

arnieswap commentedYes. This is already the setting. But users can still see the content they don't have permission to see.

hitfactory commentedMake sure the 'Administer nodes' permission is unchecked for your role as it trumps the individual 'Create blah' permissions.

I am closing this issue to clean up the issue queue. Feel free to reopen the issue if there is new information and the problem still resides. If not please make sure you close your issues that you don't need any more.
Maybe you can get support from the local user group. Please take a look at this list at groups.drupal.org.
